We’re honored to feature Mary Thompson as a Boundless Bound Symposium and Art Book Fair speaker!
Mary Thompson is professor of English at James Madison University and coordinator of the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program. She teaches courses on gender and literature, as well as feminist literary theory. Her scholarship examines contemporary women’s literature, the politics of reproduction, and representations of abortion specifically. She is the co-editor of The Politics of Reproduction: Adoption, Abortion and Surrogacy in the Age of Neoliberalism (2019) and the author of Ordinary Abortion: The Epistemology of Abortion in 21st Century Women’s Writing (forthcoming 2026).
